Forestry
The woodlands across the Estate range from young broadleaved plantations, predominantly oak, to coniferous plantations (principally pine restocked since 1930) with several areas of sycamore, chestnut and beech. There are also some ancient woodland sites.
The long-term vision is to create a balance between young and old plantations through the thinning of coniferous and subsequent restocking of quality broadleaved woodland.
