The Main Lawn

Stody is renowned for the large lawn on the south side of the house which is greatly enjoyed by many visitors. To keep it in good condition an intensive programme of feeding, mowing, scarifying, aeration and watering is applied at the appropriate times of year. During the 2009/2010 season it was discovered that it was suffering from garden chafer grubs. Since then the affected areas have been treated each September with parasitic nematodes (harmless to humans and invisible to the naked eye) and the lush quality of the lawn has been regained.
